Another Point of View: Featured Artists for November (Barbara Szkutnik and Gretha Lindwood)

Aurora Gallery welcomes artists Barbara Szkutnik and Gretha Lindwood for an exhibit of “plein air” style landscape paintings opening on November 5th, 2010 through November 27th, 2010.

First Friday Art Walk (with an artist reception, live music and refreshments) will be held from 6-8 pm on November 5th.

Both artists paint outdoors, practicing the style of painting often referred to as “plein air.” While most of the painting is done outdoors on location (adapting for light and weather conditions), often the paintings are finished in the studio.

Plein air painting has experienced a resurgence in the past 10 years as artists explore ways to bring a connection to nature in their work.

A designer and illustrator by profession, Gretha has been painting professionally for 12 years.
