Featuring Artist Skip Enge.
Skip Enge is a Vancouver painter who grew up in Camas, painting riverbanks, fisherman, fields and flowers. Skip will capture our attention this year with panorama watercolors. The process begins with photography, although the finished painting is not photo-realistic. Skip paints the original as if they were photographs all lined up in a panorama format. The finished painting is a unique representation of a local scene. Skip has been painting for 30 years and is well collected locally. Skip’s new work will be on display at Aurora Gallery August 6th through August 31st 2010.
THE HEART. (a spectacle)
A very interesting graphic was created by Tribe2 graphic artist Patrick Hildreth for the Art in the Heart festival, which is featured on every piece of advertising from The Vancouver Downtown Association. Entitled “THE HEART”, this
graphic is a mashup of photographs from the internet and represents the diversity within Southwest Washington’s art community. Inspired by this piece, the Artists at Aurora Gallery have recreated THE HEART into an original painting. The piece is comprised of 850 original miniature paintings compiled in a way that reflects the heart collage featured on the Festival’s ads. Each painting is 1.5 inches by 2.5 inches. When all 850 are assembled, it makes a painting 5 feet by 5 feet. THE HEART will be on display at Aurora Gallery July 26th-August 31st, 2010.
