July 2nd: First Friday Art Walk Featuring Artist Elizabeth Steinbaugh (& Upcoming Shows)

Opening on July 2nd, 2010 for First Friday Art Walk is a showing of contemporary landscapes by Elizabeth Steinbaugh.Large and textural, these paintings are

minimal representations of landscapes. Most are studies in composition with an abstract appearance. East Of Here, the largest painting in the collection, represents the eastern part of the state, with the expanse of fields and endless skies. Several abstract paintings round out the new body of work, all with a very organic color and texture theme that compliments the landscapes.  Her work will be featured through July 30th, 2010. First Friday Art Walk is scheduled for  July 2nd, 2010 from 5-9 PM. Refreshments and music from 6-8 PM.

Mike Smith - Horse Watching PacificAlso showing is new work by Mike Smith. This Camas-based painter is also an internationally known watercolorist with new to work to enjoy at Aurora Gallery during July.  Mike’s watercolors are colorful and lush garden scenes featuring animals, rivers, and boating.

Ongoing featured pieces at the gallery include Mark Anderson’s plein air style paintings and miniature still life paintings.

Upcoming event: Southwest Washington Art Galleries and the Vancouver Downtown Association bring you the third  annual Art in the Heart: a downtown Vancouver art festival where artists sell their own work along the sidewalks for two days (August 6 from 5-9 and August 7th from 10 am to 4 pm). Live music and food with beer gardens also part of the festivities. FREE and FUN for the whole family.
