Artist Mitch Wyninger will be showing at Aurora Gallery June 5th – 29th, 2015.
Mitch, a part-time painter while he was working as a horticulturist for many years, has now embarked as a full-time painter and has created an impressive body of work since that time. Self taught, but always a painter, Mitch was frustrated with only being able to paint when he could, not when the mood struck him. Now he’s painting everyday, and happy for it.
Mitch’s style is unique: it features the faces and figures of everyday life, but each has a feeling of mystery about them. “The man in the raincoat” is a familiar character through out this body of work as are Mitch’s signature shadows and umbrellas–these paintings have a story to tell.
